Note on Director Term Expirations: The month is determined by the Annual Conference which is normally held in April of each year. If the month above is noted differently, that indicates the Annual Conference has been adjusted outside of April.
Board of Directors Particulars
The officers of the association, together with the immediate past president and twelve directors, that are members in good standings, elected at large at the Annual Business Meeting of OAA, shall constitute the Board of Directors which shall conduct the business of OAA.
Term
Directors shall be elected for 3-year terms, with terms staggered, unless otherwise specified. If a Director is filling a vacated position, a "term" is considered a full term if the new Director completes half, or more, of the original term.
Meetings
The board typically meets monthly on the second Thursday from 1 pm to 3 pm. As the Officers and Directors come from around the state, meetings try to alternate between central Ohio and outside of central Ohio. We offer hybrid meetings (a zoom / in person mix) so that everyone can attend. Lunch is often provided by the 'host' location.

Interested in Volunteering for a Committee?
If you are interested in volunteering, we can place you as a volunteer on one or more of our committees. Expectations are that you participate in the monthly committee conference calls. You are not required to attend board meetings, but you are welcome to do so. Contact us at [email protected] if you are interested in volunteering.
Interested in Serving as a Director?
If you are interested in serving as a Director for the Ohio Aviation Association, please read through the responsibilities above and be familiar with the Constitution & Bylaws, found here. You should have the heart to serve all aviation in Ohio, and have the support of your employer as our monthly meetings occur during the day throughout Ohio. We hold elections each year during the annual conference, or if a position is vacated. It is recommended that you first volunteer for a committee. Contact us at [email protected] if you are interested in learning more about becoming a Director.
The application will ask questions about employer support of OAA and support of your time, ability to meet the responsibilities and expectations, skills & capabilities you will bring to the Board, aviation experience, previous and current aviation volunteering, and a personal statement. You will also be required to upload a resume (PDF or Word).
We anticipate there will be two to three board positions open at our annual meeting, May 2023. For more information please contact [email protected] (executive director) or [email protected] (president).........THANK YOU !!!!
